AMD 3200 Venice
A8v deluxe
1G corsair value ram
Bios was 1014

I have had previous occurances where the computer would just randomly restart. (1 or 2 occasions) Today iam playing a game when the sound goes all messed up. game freezes. then screen goes black. i hard shut down and i get the crashfreebios2 screen. i insert my backup floppy. it then asks me to restart. i restart and it keeps asking for the floppy. i do this 2 more times and then when it boots up, nothing on screen.

After troubleshooting this and resetting my CMOS. i find one stick of RAM is hooped. Did the Mobo fry it? the computer had worked up until today with zero memory errors. i just dont get it.

iam now worried that when i get replacement ram, it will get fried too. any help?

Could be your PSU, what video card are you using? The same problem happened to me, I got a new PSU, and it worked fine from then on.

all of this stuff is brand new minus the video card and the hard drive.

video card is a Sapphire 9600 PRO

PSU is 450W Antec, same one that came with the case.
Antec sonata II case.
