help with a laptop/projector

I have a laptop that is used with a projector for a power point presentation. This issue I have is that the projector only projects 3/4 of what the laptop display has. The laptop is running windows xp professional. The software has been reinstalled . The bios is updated. The hardware has been thorougly checked out. The problem is also present when connected toa monitor. Any suggestions out there?

The projector is a optima.
