C: - changes to the root directory, this would include = A: C: D: ect.
dir - list all files and directories
cd - change directory eg. C:\cd win98 this would put you in the win98 directory
cd.. - this would bring you back a directory
C:\fdisk - this would open the disk formating utility in DOS

these commands are activated by hiting enter

Copper, you can get a 98se bootdisk here:
http://home.austin.rr.com/blam/blah/boot98sc.exe

As quicky as I can this is bascially how youll do it.

At the A: prompt...
1 - Type fdisk
2 - Press Y to enable large disk support or to treat NTFS as large drives (or something like that... cant remember)
3 - press 4 to display current partitions (It should tell you the current type and format the drive is in.
4 - press ESC to return to main menu
5 - Press 3 to delete partition. Choose the number corrosponding to the partion type you want to delete. (you would have seen the type in step 3)
6 - Repeat the same steps if there is more than 1 partition
7 - After all partitions are wiped, create 1. Should be obvious how to when youre at the main menu
8 - after it is created you have to reboot. So do that and keep the floppy in
9 - The partition is created but not formated. at the A: prompt type format c:
10 - Then Y of course.

Thats is pretty much. You can return to fdisk if you like to see if it is partitioned/fprmatted properly. From now you install the OS
