Building a low end Computer

Im building a PC for my friend, she really does nothing but serf the internet, type some papers, and play some flash games. My budget is about $350, I already have windows XP, a monitor, a power supply, and a optical drive. What do you think?

Its good, but you need a Power Supply, one doesn't come with the case. I built a system for my friend too, but I used 1GB ram and a 9600Pro because he wanted to game.

But for your purposes, its fine. But remember, Power Supply.

Well one thing is do get a 512 meg stick.

That's like a high quality brand name (dell, compaq, HP) prebuilt PC at a fraction of the price.

And yeah. It's good to have 512 MB of RAM. WIth XP, 256 MB can get slow..

Well I already have a power supply, a brand new, Its left over from when I built my gamming computer i had to put a bigger one in cause of my graphics card.

Thanks for the 512mb tip, i din't know if 256 was enough.

Enough space for HDD. If you're only going to surf the net, 120 is overkill, funny.

Well for the price, thats a great deal, you can expect to pay up to $70 at some **** store even for a 80 gig so why not?

He could save a few bucks on NewEgg by going with a smaller drive.

You might want to consider getting a slightly smaller harddrive but with an 8MB cache and keep the same RPM (7200).
