Installing xp home edition

Ok i want to reinstall my xp home edition but this time i dont want to install the os on the hard drive and then just use all of that space where the os is installed but i want to install the os in one place but then when i want to use the other space on the hard drive like for other stuff that would be used on the computer.Now how can i do this with one hd.
Its a 56gb hd. How c
 
Partitions.

Enter the Windows setup with your CD, and delete the partitions, and create 2 new ones. I would say allocate about 5GB (give or take) to Win XP, and then leave the rest to your files.

Make sure you format both in NTFS.
 
you hit escapse when the install ane repair option come up on the xp cd

on this page you can create and delete partitions. I would make 1 15 gb OS drive and make the rest the my documents folder
