Just wondering what refurbished really means, or whether its a good idea to buy one or not? Its from newegg.

Im trying to build a descent system for about 600-700 bucks for general gaming (aka not hardcore.), general computer stuff (photo editing, websurfing, music) and to maybe connect to my hdtv to use as a monitor.

Is it a good idea to buy refurbished? Its saves almost $45 of the price for the same board.

I do plan to overclock, so does refurbished diminish this? Do refurbished products come with some warranty, just in case it doesnt work out of the box? Does OC'ing cancel your warranty?

Thanks

It is my opinion that "refurbished" is a board that either:

1. Was returned to New Egg but still worked fine.
or
2. was returned to new egg then sent to the MFG who then fixed it a sent it back to the egg.

Either way, i think you would be fine. As long as it still carries the same warranty as a new one, What do you have to loose?

why do they call them lan party i was always wondering why is it like special for lan play or what?

The slots glow in the dark, it makes it look flashy, you know, for a lan party.

They Do? I didnt know that. Anyways, can someone please post in the link i posted. I really need to know if my build is ok, and what I can cut to get it a little cheaper. Thanks.
