i've heard a lot of people go overboard with the poer that they claim to need for their computer. is it an addiction?

my friend feeds 1.0G P3, 384 RAM, 20GB & 120GB HDD's, DVD+-RW, CD-RW, video GeForce4, and one fan with 300W and claims it's too little! i think it's a lot more than he needs.

however, is a 430W PSU enough for a 3G P4, 1G RAM, 120GB HDD, DVD/CD+-RW, GeForce4 video, SBAudigy Platinum and 4 fans?

i'm trying to resolve this debate witth my friend!

That all depends on the quality of the PSU. I'd take good quality 300 watt PSU over a cheap 420 watt any day.

well i trust in Antec when it comes to those things so i went with the Antec TruePower True430. the AMPs look fair enough from cmparing with other ones. but believe me it wasn't a $19.95 PSU
