computer not picking up new hardware??

ok i hav just recently formatted and hav been installin my newhard ware and i just installed my kodak digital camera software but when i connect the device through usb it doesnt pick it up or say found new hard ware.thers just no camera it all ive tryed reinstalling and even lookin in the bios to mayb see if something is disabled every thing else on my computer works correctly, but my usb mouse has just stopped working when i turn my pc on it cuts on until windows loads then it dies. is there something wrong with my usbs

Did you build your PC? Did you plug in the one pin connector in the correct place (for USB's).

Do you need any installation CD for your camera?
