Hey how do i flash my bios?

i have a sempron 1900+ my uncle just told me the other day but it is runnign at 1.05 ghz now my friend sed it should it be running at a higher speed so he tried changing it but it wouldn't let him so he suggested that i flash the bios but i dont know how to flash the bios i know it means to update it but how do i do this can anybody help me please thank you?

It should be in the motherboard manual.

Before you do, try removing the CMOS battery from the mobo for about thirty seconds. Then replace the battery and reboot the computer.

It should reset itself and recognize the CPU, unless the mobo is too old and can't handle that speed.
