There probably won't be any new nVidia cards out by Christmas, the highest card you should aim for is the 7800GTX ($500-$600). I doubt you're that rich, so the 6800GT (~$300) is a good choice for a high-end PC. If you need a mid-range video card, get the vanilla 6800 (~$200) or 6600GT (~$150).

These are current prices, they could go down by Christmas, but I wouldn't expect a freefall, if you know what I mean.

i can afford a 7800gtx but when theres a 800 buck cpu with that it kinda strikes high im hoping to have $2500 or more.
