no display from a 9600xt to a apple cienma

i have a ati all-in-wonder 9600xt, and i recently got a apple cinema 20' lcd display.
i want to use my apple display for my computer. 9600xt card doesnt have a dvi port, so i bought a dvi-vga adoptor as it is told on apple's website.
but it is not detected.

does anyone have any idea what's going on?

The apple monitor's are compatible with computers with a DVI port, I don't think it supports VGA>DVI adaptors, your best bet is to find a video card with it's own DVI port.

ThatÂ’s odd I thought that all the 9600XTs had DVI.
