OK, here are some suggestions, but I do not have the time to get links.

If you are trying to save money, forget the SLI mobo and get the DFI Ultra-d, one of the best socket 939 mobos.

Like said below, go for the 6800GT over the ATI (make sure its PCI-e!)

Yes, add RAM :D You need DDR400 (also called PC3200) Probably 1gig (2x512)

You do NOT need the sound card, the PCI-USB adapter, or the network card. The sound on the mobo will be as good as a $50 sound card, and you will have plenty of USB ports and a network port on the mobo, no worries there.

Get the Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego over that 3800+. The San Diego is a better core.

Oh, and I would look for another case ;) and get a GOOD PSU.

Ok here goes some more stupid questions =)

What is the difference between the 3700 San Diego and the 3800? How do they compare in performance.

Another large question is how the heck do I tell which case would fit the things that I want to put in it. I just grabbed the one that I listed because it was fairly cheap and seemed to be what I needed. I am up for suggestions there.

How does the 6800 GT compare with the 7800GTX and what price difference is there.

Are you sure that the Mobo gives a fair amount of USB ports?

Thanks

the 3700 is better in games cause the 3800 is a dual core and most games dont support dual core. so your actually one step ahead of the ball game, cause MAYBE which is about 99.99% sure that next generation games are going to support dual core and if they dont im going to shoot my computer. anyways the 6800GT is still one of the high end graphics card. the 7800GTX is the topest mostest bestest performance card out there but at a hefty price of around 500dollars and up
the 6800GT is probably the next step down from the 7800GTX, well actually there is the 7800GT then the 6800GT. well the mobo has
6 usb ports, and plus that 10 dollar thing with 4 additional usb ports so that equals 10. i am only using 2 right now out of my 6. and my two front ones dont even work, and my mobo came with an aditional 4 usb ports that go into a pci slot, not using the pci slot. and has a bunch of lights on in...anuyways if you want to go for great gaming right now you can get an fx-57. or 3700 or 4000+ but if you want to be ahead of the game you can get the dual core. its real the matter of your choice

i was thinking that why is this guy buying a sound card when onboard sound is ok, and how about the ethernet lan connector i mean isnt the one on the mobo good enough...???? and i think 6 usb connectors are good enough for anybody...who has more then 6 devices plugged in more then at once...

You have to realize that I know absolutely nothing so if I say I am looking at getting something and it sounds stupid..... it is stupid and there is no real reason for it so be sure and tell me that I am being a jackass. Thanks soooo much for all the help, and the links/price stuff is also great.

Another question, idiotec suggested:

Would you agree with that? and if so do by chance have a link?
