Well you get what u pay for, although I have not heard of that shuttle brand. If you can afford $499, i would recommend going at least 19". It is NOT too big. This is the best LCD currently on the market, withing reasonable price and at 4:3 screensize.

If you have to stay below 250... My best suggestion would be to get a decent CRT monitor.. Most lcd's under that having above a 15 inch screen arn't worth the money.

Ya go for that 17" samsung as above or a 19" crt (which is actually 18".)
