it is a A/V switcher. they sell one at walmart for 20 bucks that convert the svideo or composite signal to a tv tuner (channel 3). you will need these too.

Splitters, etc from Radio Shack, etc are a huge cause of problems with people's Cable TV/Internet. If you can, go to your cable companie's office and buy some of their splitters and cable. If your local cable company is anything like the one I work for, they wont use crap splitters/cable.

Yeah, I have had problems with crap splitters before, I'll check with Comcast.

make sure one is a cable antenna switch, so you can switch from computer to cable. if your cable box, have composite out, you don't need the switch. just run it from to the walmart box, along with your computer
