Xconnects are horriable psus there 500W peaks at about 350W.


An antec ocz or enermax is midrange if you want highend your going be paying over $200usd for a pc power and cooling.

what is the best brand for psu's and what is an average price for a medium quality psu

The best brand is PC power & cooling but you wont fine any of there for cheap. THey cost ALOT.

brands that I personally like that more reasonable priced is Antec, Enermax, OCZ

X-Connects arent great. Im speaking from experience, i own one. They do atually perform up to their rated wattage. If they only peaked at 350, my system would have shorted by now. They are okay, but they are not what we would consider quality PSUs. There are better choices out there
