Socket 939 vs 754

I'm about to build a new machine and I'm looking for a little advice. Is there a big difference in the Socket 939 and the Socket 754 AMD 64 processors? I'm specifically looking at the 3500+ on an MSI K8N Neo4-F nForce MB for the 939 and a 3400+ on a MSI K8T Neo-FSR nForce 3 MB. I guess, will I notice a difference? It will be used for gaming (HL2), streaming video and music to my entertainment system and definitely excessive DVD production and burning. Thanks for the help guys.

definitly go 939. 754 has reached the end of its life, and im pretty sure that AMD is gonna stop making it soon or has already stopped

My guess is as soon as the skt 939 semprons start comming out it will mark the begining of the end for skt 754.
