6600GT question

I bought an EVGA 6600GT about a month ago and it runs the only game I play (MOHPA) great. But then I got curious about overclocking it so I downloaded the Coolbits utility. When I finally got to the part where you can overclock it I got coldfeet because I didn't want to void the warranty but I couldn't help but notice the core clock speed was set at 300 but it's supposed to be 500(see image below). Does anyone know why it's set lower than advertised?

I think thats the 2d speed, which is ok.

Man there was another thread about this very thing on the same page that answered my question. This is why us noobs should search a little before starting a new thread.

click manual overclock then bring that down and change the 3d settings.
