Between the 6600gt and x800gt, which would you choose.
6600gt-pci-express $154
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130214
pros:
SM 3.0 support
FP 32 support
sli capable

cons:
128-bit memory interface
128mb

x800gt-pci-express $165
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814131420
pros:
256MB
256-bit interface
crossfire?

cons:
SM 2.0 support
FP 16 support

Is 256MB and 256-bit more important than SM 3.0 and FP 32 support? Supposedly, the x800gt is faster than a 6600gt. X800gt also based on ati x850 core, but with half the pipelines.

6600GT. It is very depressing that my brand new 6600GT (which I love BTW) is considered "low end." Oh well, it does what I need it to and more.

x800gt HANDS DOWN

The reviews ive seen show it 30% faster then the 6600gt.

edit: btw it does support crossfire.

yeah, the 6600's and X600-X800GT cards aren't low-end, nor are they high-end. their midrange.

for this, i would say that if one wants performance for the meantime, go for the X800GT, if one wants longevity for tomorrow, go for the 6600GT.
