7800gt vs 7800gtx

Which would u recommend? Could you unlock the 4 pipelines and oc the gt to the gtx for the $100 difference or just get the 7800gtx and save yourself the problem of doing that and the possibility of "killing" the card?

don't think theres enough people that have thoroughly messed with the 7800 series yet....as far as I'm aware the whole 'unlocking the pipelines' is pure speculation....you'd have to do a google search or something to see if you can find any real information as to whether that can even be done.

It been confirmed that you can not unlock it with RivaTuner. But there may be a way to unlock it with a bios Flash.

IMHO the Gt is defiantly the winner. Its only 5 10 fps slower than a GTX in most games, and is 100-140 bucks cheaper. With that extra cash you save, either go buy more games, or get more Ram for all the recent Ram munching games.

Either one is good really, so i guess you cant be picky. If you actualy have the money then go the better route but in all honesty they are both bangin so either will do fine.
