I booted my computer today and it made this loud buzzing-esque noise. After opening it up and turning it on with various fans/hard drives etc. unplugged from the power supply I determined it was the video card making all the racket because only when the fan on the video was turning would I hear the noise. So I took everything out and cleaned out the fan on it (its an ATI Radeon All-In-Wonder 9000 Pro) and put stuff back in the case, but I rearranged all the PCI cards so that the video card's fan would have more breathing room. However, when I booted up again the noise continuted for about 5 minutes and then finally stopped. I expected it to not buzz at all after I cleaned it.....
Here's my question: Would the noise probably have stopped anyway or did my cleaning actually make a difference?
