internet camera

i bought a dlink dcs 950 wired internet camera. I need to set it up so that it can be viewed from a different house hold. The connection it will be attached to is a standard dlink router and the internet provider for it uses a static IP. I roughly know how to set this up but can anyone give me any tips or common problems and how to get past them? Or send me a link that can help assist me during the setup process. The documentation that came with the camera is pretty good, however I'm looking for something more detailed if possible. I need to be sure that it can be accessed and viewed by anyone who has the IP address I'm gonna give them. Thanks
