I can't use Windows Explorer!!!

Ok see I have this weird problem with my laptop...
For nearly three months now I haven't been able to open windows explorer to access my files. I can get around the problem, but it's annoying. When I double-click a desktop icon I get a "SysFader: explorer.exe - Application error." I'm thinking of reinstalling Windows XP Home Edition as a last resort, but before I do that does anyone have any idea what's going on with my PC, better yet, does anyone have any solutions for my problem!?

That is odd. Have you tried the recovery CD or recovery console?

Try a repair install. Se my sig for instructions on how to do it.
