I am going away to school and wanted to copy most of my DVD's that I am going to leave home for my brother so that I can take them to school with me to watch. However, I didn't really want to lose all the quality and shrink it down to fit on the standard 4gb dvd's.

So, does anyone have any opinions on getting a dual layer dvd burner? If so, recommend any specific ones, internal or external?

Thanks for the assistance and advice!

Aren't dual layer disks a bit expensive? I've seen the results of DVDShrink etc and it seems ok on a single layer disk. If I were doing it I would stick to shrinking until the price of dual layer comes down.

I have a pioneer DV-108 works everytime but I have never used it for dual layer.

I agree with CJJohnson...besides, I've used DVD Shrink for a long time now and sometimes compressed dvds from around 7 or even 9 gb to the regular 4.7 gb dvd disc with no noticable change at all!
I say use DVD Shrink...its the best...
