I don't know much about that power supply. It's not what I would have chosen. Everything looks fine. I'm not an intel fan, so I don't really know where that processor stands. I mean, I know about where it'll fall, but not quite... I believe if DJ-Chris finds this thread he'll rash you about your Asus motherboard. I have had good experiences with Asus products in the past, so I think it's great.

I'd definately take that system if someone decided to give it to me!

This seems cheap for a 64-bit and dual core processor. I try to hit the pricing sweet spot. Will this setup work? Does DJ-Chris like MSI?
I have built 5 abit machines but never a msi.

I've heard good things about MSI. I don't know what DJ-Chris thinks... Read reviews on the product on newegg or something. That's where I do all my learning to see if the product is quality or not. It makes more sense to me to see what CUSTOMERS have to say, rather than techie speculators.

Ok I think people mislead you when they told you ASUS would not be good. This is proberly because people around here use to making AMD machines.

Here how it works

ASUS amd K8 motherboards are not good and MSI makes awsome K8 motherboards.

but

ASUS is by far the best maker of intel P4 motherboards. Abit is slightly behind them. If you going to make a intel system you should definally change back to the ASUS motherboard you orginally chosen.

I have heard good things about MSI as well, and doing a build with a Neo4 for someone very soon.

Anyways, about me and Asus. It's true, that Asus are no good for AMD builds. However, Asus are one of the king's for Intel build motherboard's.

And for newegg reviews, these reviews are edited, and biased towards the product. Bad reviews are taken off of newegg very frequently.

Yeah ASUS is good for Intel and bad for AMD.

The 6800 isnt a bad card, if you unlock the pipes and overclock it

The best power supplies are Antec. Thermaltake and OCZ but this doesnt mean that that powersupply wont work, its just not the best quality.

I would get a eVGA 6600GT or a Leadtek/eVGA 6800GT

Is this machine going to be used mainly for gaming?
