What video card for this setup?

I am building an all around home PC

AMD athlon 64 3400
Asus k8v-x

I dont play games so it doenst have to be the best.

I believe that is AGP. If you're just going to be surfing the net and such, just get a GeForce MX 4000 or something really cheap. You could even go w/ a ATI Radeon 9250SE.

I would get a geforce fx 5200. A 64-bit one will be fine no reason to spend extra for a 128-bit one if you not gaming. This way you have full direct x 9 support just in case you ever need it. Plus they dont cost much more then the mx400.

Here one for $37 that got dvi and vga in case you ever get a nice LCD screen.

Ya ,a Geforce 5200 would be fine for your needs, unless you want to spend more.

unless you already have it, i would get a motherboard with a built in ATI X200.

if all your doing is surfing the internet, i woudl say, send money on ram, but thats it.

yeah if you really wanna cut costs get a chep m/b with integrated graphics. my suggestion though is same as first post though. get a GeForce MX 4000. speaking of which i saw one for $10 australian the other day. this shop gave me an ATX tower with working PSU for free!!! no catches i swear to god. he just gave it to me and i didnt even buy anything, so it does actually pay to visit a real shop every now and then
