Serious Help Needed

I know very little about computers and am becoming increasingly frustrated with a small but incredibly annoying problem.

Everytime I sign into XP proffesional I get a System32 folder. I daren't open it as I fear it could possess a virus. I get no end of Trojan viruses, the two most recent of which have not been accessible by my Anti-virus software.

If anyone can help me

1) get rid of the system32 folder that opens on start up

and

2) stop the Trojan invasion

I would be eternally greatful

To stop it from opening go to start,Help & Support,Tools bottom right hand column,system configuration utility,then in right hand box open system configuration utility,go to the startup tab find the system 32 file in the list and untic the box and restart your computer.When you restart a diolog box will pop up put a tic in the box and click accept or whatever it says.I cant quite remember that part but you just want to make it remembers the setting.

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/. Then open it and check for updates. Tehn run a scan and when complete remove all it finds.

Then reboot into safe mode and delete
