LCD Response Times

I was looking at monitors at newegg and I noticed some of the response times said things like: 8ms (gray-to-gray); 20ms (black-white-black, typ)

what is the difference between gray-to-gray and black-white-black, typ?

Really if you want an LCD you need to find one that looks appealing and then research it.

there is a 19" lcd on newegg with a 4ms gray to gray response time, looks pretty sweet to me. but its also $500

8ms or less and you will be fine.
