I Dont Get It!!!! Help

Everytime I go to overclock my cpu, which is a socket 939 3200+ venice with an abit av8, it will run fine in prime95 for 5 hours, but as soon as i put it thru a game, or in this case 3dmark03, it freezes up right at the beginning (you know that plane sequence.) If I set it to default its fine. I have adequate cooling(after market HSF). I have tried upping voltages, read over the overclocking sticky on these forums. nothing I do can get it to run properly in games. I know there must be a way as the reason I bought the 3200 venice was because of its awesome overclocking abilitites. PLEASE HELP!!!!

maybe its your gfx card...

graphics card is fine. with cpu at default it runs games flawlessly. its an evga 6800 ultra. has latest drivers. should i rollback drivers and see if that helps?

PSU perhaps. Not supplying enough power to gfx card?v
