!!!My computer fans are making loud noises

have recently (January 2003) brought this new computer and it was working fine and then something happened and the technitions restarted my pc. now It is making funny noises, they said it was nothing and that it would go away but it's getting louder. My bro brought the same pc and you can hardley hear it running yet mine you can here all over the house.

opened up my pc and the loud sound/fan is coming from the one attached to the mother board and which seems to be attached to something (could be the processor thing...Not quite sure lol)
anyone know any solutions???

fter listening more carefully they both sound the same ( are making the nose) someone else suggested they might be spinning to fast..does anyone have any ideas.........Plz help because I need the computer to stay alive.

If it is the CPU fan that you are talking about... one option is to buy a new Fan. What type of proccesor are u using?

It's probably the chipset fan, if it's the small fan attached to the motherboard.

These fans fail sooner than most. I'd call the place where you had it serviced and try to get that fan checked out/replaced.

Also, make sure there are no wires tocuhing the fan blades.

My PSU was making alot of noise and I would hit it and it would stop.
I dont suggest you try that though, thats just how I fix things around here. All I did was blow out the PSU with an air compressor and then I oiled the fan. Noise gone...
