i have a P4 2.66 with HT. before i overclock it, what should i get to cool it, and where can i get these things?

Best heatsink/fan combo for OC'ing that p4 (in my opinion), is Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu ...you can find this HS/Fan at most online computer stores, such as here http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...-118-109&catalog=62&manufactory=BROWSE&depa=1

I own one, but currently can't use it on my mobo with the DSP2 setup. I am trying to mod the fan and clips to fit. Zalman's website has specs on differnet motherboards with this heatsink/fan.

You may also want to look at getting some thermal paste. Arctic Silver is best. There are many varieties, you can read the reviews and such here http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...tory=1410&catalog=85&DEPA=1&sortby=14&order=1

BTW if you live in Canada, try these two sites www.vibecomputers.com and ncix.com

thanks.... what about ducting? what if im on a budget?? $43 seems alot for just a heatsink and a fan

I've never tried ducting, though i hear it helps.

There are more economical choices out there...as long as you get a decent HS/Fan, some good thermal paste (applied properly), and have good air flow in the case, ...you will do fine.

Once you decide on a HS/Fan combo, you should then read some reviews on it, just to make sure their are no issues that may hamper your efforts at cooling. If you go to www.ncix.com , you can see customer reviews on most products (this is a Canadian store so prices will seem high-CND dollars).

thanks but my mobo came with a program called foxstep that does that for me
