System is XPpro SP2

For some time I have relied on Registry Mechanic 4.0 and NortonSystemWorks 2005 to keep my system in order and both show no errors.

However I thought it prudent to look at other utilities
and below are the results:

1. Error Doctor 8 Active X Com errors
2 Device Driver errors
2 Windows start up errors
20 Short-cut errors

2. PC Bug Dctor 11 SLSID error
23 Short-cut errors

3. PCOnPoint 51 Registry scan errors
2 Invalid short-cuts

I am utterly confused and would be dlighted to have comments before parting with money to register one or the other.

Really these tools don't do much for fixing most systems. They really only seem to help with machines that have users installing programs in their profiles (NOT machine) and with spyware/virus (post removal). If you run a clean system, then there is little chance you will really ever need these.
But then that is my opinion...

Good luck

Thanks for your opinion. I have 3 anti spyware programs and one ant-trojan program on my computer and rely on Norton a/v for virus control

In fact I have e-mailed each of the utilities for their comments and will await their reply - it will be enlightening!
