IBM 600E Win XP

I just bought an IBM ThinkPad 600E. I know, it sucks, but that's all that I could afford. It currectly has Windows 2000 Professional on it right now. It also has a 6 GB Hard Drive. Do you think that I should install Windows XP on it or no?

How much RAM is in it. I would not do an XP install on anything less than 256. I also would not do an xp install on a processor less than 700mhz

Do you think that it would be better to put windows 98 on here though....i have windows 2000 right now..im looking for speed and it SUCKS on here. so, would using windows 98 make it faster??

Faster? Yes. Better? No.

Try turning off everything you don't need; that will make it much faster.

I agree with MacDude. You would be better to stick with a slim version of Windows 2K than to use 98. Also, you can buy a hdd upgrade for that for like 50 bucks... Get you up to 20+ gigs...
Ram wouldn't be too much either. That system can take upto 256 I think...
