computer boot problem...

hi everyone.. i have a problem with a friend's computer.. At first, the computer wouldn't budge when the power button is pressed, thus i reasoned that it's a power supply problem, so i went out and got a new power supply.. It booted and for the first time it went up all the way to windows.. and then i try to put the HD back into it's place then i plugged in the CD drive.. Booted the second time, however, this time the monitor remains blank.. i tried to change a new vid card, and it didn't work.. There also aren't the usual beep at the beginning of the boot sequence.. I reasoned that it could be the motherboard problem, anyone have any suggestions as to what is wrong? thanks alot

if there's something in the pci slots... take it out... worked with me.. it decided to try to detect the monitor form an pci slot instead of agp..

mmm.. well, i was been stupid and put the power voltage to 230 instead of 115.. burnt the HD (at least i think so), the HD is pretty old anyways
