i have put artic silver 5 on put everything on i hear some screeching and the comp starts then shuts down

what exactly did you put it on?

did u smear it on every chip you could see? that would really not be nessessary.

i just put on the heatsink and fan not everything i was typing fast and because i felt so stupid for messing it up.

you know it's also great for turning your whole case into shining silver color... who needs those damn paints when you got AS5.
