I built this system about a month and a half ago the specs are.


Intel Extreme Edition 3.2ghz

1gigabyte ram

Nvidia Geforce 6800gt

Creative Sound Blaster audigy 2 zs gamer

Ati tv wonder pro

Western Digital Caviar 250gb

Windows Media Center Edition

Ok my problem is that about a month ago my power supply blew so i got a enermax 600 watt psu i also got some artic silver and a new northboard chip cooler by zalman it has no fan. well anyways before my psu blew i could play battlefield vietnam on everything set to high. and now it lags,even battlefield 1942 lags. I have had my computer on for two days. could it just be that it is heating up and i need to shut it down. Or is there a bigger problem. Yesterday I could play Doom 3 on ultra so i am thinking i just need to let it cool down.

could be a cooling issue. could be a power issue also. could even be that the psu surged and damaged soemthing when it blew but i doubt that

so do i need to just shut it down and let it cool off. Because it could run doom 3 on ultra yesterday. so could that be it

monitor the temperatures and see if it starts to lag at a certain point and then you will know if it is overheating
