PCI/ISA problem

Yet another problem with my P1...

This time, the PCI and ISA slots don't seem to be functioning properly. I had an SB16 in an ISA slot (which worked fine in Linux and DOS 6.22) but now that I have Windows NT4, it doesn't seem to want to work, even with the drivers installed.

The same problem is now cropping up with a PCI network card I got from a friend. I installed the netcard drivers, and EVEREST sees that the card is there, but it doesn't work.

All complicated by the fact that I'm an NT4 n00b.

Any ideas? Thanks...

Have you tried reseating the PCI/ISA riser card? I am assuming that it has one, as my old P2 Packard Bell does. Both yours and mine were built before ATX was around...

Sounds like it may be time for an upgrade...

You can try cleaning the contacts on both the card and the slot.
