Internet Explorer problem

Recently Microsoft Internet Exlporer has crapped out on me. Every time I start it up, I get a message saying "page cannot be displayed." Other browsers such as Mozilla work fine. Around the same time IE started acting up, I removed the Gator and nCase spyware programs. I'm wondering if the might have something to do with it. Any help fixing the problem would be appreciated.

It was version 5.5. Then I updated to IE6 and it still doesent work.
