drive names

hey i was wondering if different drive names "letters" mean anything

i know A: is always floppy and C: is always hard drive or whatever but what is up with D:-H: (i think ive seen em all)

is D: used for a second hdd?

are the rest just random for opticals?

im confused...

A is floppy, B is the big 5 1/2 inch disks, C is your first HD and however many HD's you got just keep going from there, and than your last device is your CD.

eg, on any given computer, A could be the floppy, C the first Hard Disk, D the second Hard Disk, E the third hard disk, and F is the cdrom.

hey i ust to have a drive emulator and i had drives a - z lol switch know what hes talkin bout thought i always thought they were randon but for 96 cd drive ive seen g and d drives it hink they are different by the operatin system
