XP Pro Installed, worked for first boot, now won't boot.

Installed XP Pro on an older system I was planning to sell.

850mhz AMD Athlon Processor
256mb RAM
VooDoo 3 Vid Card 16mb
8 gig WD Hard Drive


The computer was pretty much thrown together. Spare parts from upgrades I've done to my friends PC's. After installation, XP booted up just fine. Used the computer for about 20 minutes, but didn't have a driver for the network card, so I needed to get onto my other computer, and since I don't have a KVM switch, I shut the computer down, moved keyboard/mouse/monitor to my main computer, downloaded network drivers, switched cables back, and now the computer won't boot. Gets stuck right when the WinXP boot screen appears.

Anything I can try before trying to reinstall windows?

If it helps, the computer boots fine in Safe Mode..

Sounds like a driver is screwed up somewhere

Check the event logs while you are in safe mode. Uninstall any recent drivers or programs. Check back with us!

Well, I'm posting using that computer right now. Re-installed the video card, and windows booted right up! Thanks again.
