I've got the platinum revison 2's and they're great RAM. I don't know why they want you to buy something else. I also don't see any problem with your power supply, its a good choice.

If that monitor has a problem with lower resolutions, you may want to look at this Viewsonic one:

I have it and have 0 problems with it, works great.

One reason I don't reccomend that for the DFI Lan Party is because the DFI Lan party can give HUGE voltages. At 3.2-3.3 volts, the OCZ VALUE VX will get up to 240-250 FSB with 2-2-2-5 timings. Please try to get that on your platinum REV 2s please. He doesn't need the extra fsb since his multiplier is so high already.

Remember the value vx on newegg are priced at 105 dollars. DO NOT get the 80 dollar value ocz memory.
