Help picking a wireless keyboard/mouse for basic use

i am planning on getting the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop:comfort edition also known as Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 3.0.

Now i was wondering if anyone has any good things about this desktop or if i shouldn't buy it at all. And if it is bad, which one do you recommand. My price limit is $80.

If this is a good one, how far does it go? I need it to go about 8-9 feet away from my desktop

also, i would like the batteries at last AT LEAST 1 month.

I would suggest that you save up and get bluetooth. RF isn't as responsive as bluetooth is.

i just need to be able to use it from my bed so that i can use my big LCD screen with the PC. And my bed is about 8 feet away from the PC. well at least where i would be laying on the bed is about 8 feet away

so the Logitech LX700 will reach my requirement of at least 8 feet? I have heard good things about it. The only thing i am missing to know is how far it can go
