Just got this DVD-R, is there software, or something to make it faster?

Just got this DVD-R

Just threw it in and im not sure if i can burn cd's or dvd's yet? It didnt come with any software and almost seems to be running slow when I put in a data disc with some music, which im trying to copy onto my computer. So are there settings I need to adjust or is there software for this to make it all easy?

OK. The reason that drive didn't come with any software is because it's OEM "original equipment manufacturer. Sometimes it does come with software, sometimes it doesn't.

Personally I find that NERO BURN software is the best. www.nero.com
The ultra edition is loaded with plenty of apps and features for burning everything under the sun. "legally" that is.

Just to let you know -

I've seen that nero does create some problems, ie. When you want to play a game, you insert disk, click play, and you will get an error message saying that the disk is not inserted. The same happens with emulation software aswell...

Anyway, just if that happens.
