I think the most prudent thing to do would be to find a "l337 Grafix Card Roundup" at a hardware review site, find the best performer that you can afford, and buy that exact one.
Why is everyone complicating the choices? Whats wrong with what I posted way way earlier in the thread? I agree with the people that are saying specs and clockspeed aren't really useful for comparison.
