dvd problem

i hv a samsung sd-608 dvd drive. whn ii play dvd movies after 30-40 mins movie freezes and begins to skip. i hv to eject and then after 5 mins if i play again it plays for another 15 mins again the same problem. please help. i hv tried diff. dvd players(sw) all hv the same problem.also my dvd heats up a bit.

please tell me is it an external or an internal DVD drive you are using ?

dvd heatup is normal within reason....as for the freezing up and stalling of the play....what are the specs of your computer???....what software player are you using???....how much memory do you have???

it sounds like his dvd-rom drive is overheating since he has to wait for it to cool down before it works again. if possible move your drives around so there is no drive or any obstacle blocking right above the dvd-rom drive.

have an emtpy bay above the dvd-rom drive. also make sure wires are not blocking airflow behind dvd-rom drive. otherwise if you have warranty get your drive inspected.
