CD Rom Drive

Hi Guys,

As you will have guessed I am brand new to this forum I usually specialise in theatre sound and lighting but dabble in computing. What i was wondering is if there was a pin out for a CD rom drive, Im basically trying to have a dummy CD rom drive that can be ejected remotly without the use of a computer !! I like the sliding mechanism and it is part of a DIY shutter for projector project.

Can two pins be shorted to get the drive to open and then to close or is it not possible will I have to de-solder the switch and extend it ??

I cant find any pinouts on google !! im tempted just to desolder the switch but it would be nice if there were an external way of doing it !!

I would just move the switch if i were you

Their's no two pin's you can short, you have to use a digital signal
