Ddr Compatibility

NEED SOMEONES HELP ON ANSWERING A QUESTION. I WENT TO THE COMPUTER SHOW SAT 27TH AND BOUGHT A 256MB PC2100/ELIXIR. I WAS TOLD IT WAS COMPATIBLE BUT ALL I GOT WAS A BLANK SCREEN.
MY MOTHERBOARD IS : AMPTON K7-810CLM W/AMD DURON 1400 CPU COMBO. SPEED 1.2 GHz.

ON THE MEMORY BAR THERE IS A STICKER THAT SAYS PC3200U-30330 BUT THE SELLER SWEARS IT IS PC2100.

HELP HELP PS I AM RETURNING IT TODAY/THE MEMORY THAT IS.

even if the ram was pc3200 his mobo would under clock it to what it is suitable for. And i would be happy buying a pc3200 stick when i think its pc2100 so that has no issue with it at all. the memmory is generic so my guess is its crap and your systme doesn't like it. Go brand name such as corsair or kingston
