Convince me not to buy Intel

ive always used intel processor, and have found them stable, and have not had any problems as of yet.

I have an Intel, but AMD are cheaper and you get more 'bang for the buck' as they say. I wish I'd gone AMD actually, since all I do is gaming.

Intels are fine on the other hand.

I disagree, I think Intel is actually cheaper than AMD now.

For my SQL server box that I am building I would have used AMD again like my desktop if I could have afforded it.

Yep, AMD is cheaper, and because of the way they work, are more productive per clock cycle than Intels.

But if you're hell-bent on getting an Intel, I'm not going to try and stop you.

Athlon 3200 will give you a little better performance than a 3.2 ghz P4 and the price for it is $190. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103535

Also the Athlon 64 can run 64 bit software and 32 bit software so you get more.

The 3.2 GHZ P4's start at $215 and are slower and don't support 64 bit. They have the 640 for $270 which is still beat by a $190 Athlon 3200. and for $267 you can have the 3500!
