Microsoft Word XP Runtime error

I have Microsoft Word XP installed on my PC and I tried to open a document the other day and I got this message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime library

'Program: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 10\WINWORD.EXE


This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Please contact the application's support team for more information


I have tried to reinstall Microsoft Office and the problem still occurs, any ideas why??

I dont know what version of Word you have. I would have to guess either 2000 but most likely 2003 since it is Office 10. It might be that you need to do your Office Update. This might help you more.

the path he provides tells you the version... 10 is 2002.
anyway, he tells you he has word XP (2002)... Read the post before replying...

I was thinking that Office 11 was the new version being released but it is 12 so it would be 2002. My bad sorry. BTW i did read the post just used wrong info.
