Hey, wouldn't it be a lot faster if they could sell a 2-4GB flash Hard drive, so that windows could boot from that... I mean, you could boot Win XP in like 3 seconds... that would be sweet

so if any1 knows a place where they sell anything like that, link plz! :D thanx
 
Seagate used to make a hard drive based on DRAM modules that was available in like 12 and 18gb. This was back in the late 90s so it was VERY pricey.

The problem with using flash is that it isn't really all *that* fast, plus it wears out after a certain number of uses.
 
A Flash Hard Drive? What the hell are you talking about? Hard drives are magnetic, flash drives arent. You could try putting WinXP on a thumb drive. You can put bootsectors on flash drives, and put memtest86 and it would work. Not sure about the OS itself....
 
Nothing says hard drives have to be magnetic.

Like I said above, I believe it was Seagate that once made a hard drive out of DRAMs.
