Problem with search window

Hi!
I'm having a problem with the search tool on my computer. It has Windows XP. When I enter the search option the normal search window appears, but the part where you choose for what to look for and the search text box doesn't appear, the only thing that appears is the assistant, the little dog, but the space where it is supposed too be all the search options disappeared...

Could someone please help me???

search for the file through "all files and folders" and make sure you try something simple like "windows". Maybe the file you tried isnt on your system

Well, actually I can't do that, I couldn't explain it on words, maybe is better to show a snapshot... Look at the link and you'll understand what I'm trying to say...

It sounds like a problem i had a week ago with my system. IE didnt load Windows Update or User Account. Alot of things that had to do with Windows didnt work along with the search function. I had to do a repair with the XP CD to get everything back to normal.
